The idea that women should cut their hair shorter as they age is just dumb.

If a woman looks great with long hair, why should she cut it just because she's 40, 50 or 60 years old?
Take Demi Moore, who, at 47 (she turns 48 Nov. 11), looks amazing with her jet-black, long, straight hair.
Yes, she is a gorgeous Hollywood star, but her hair complements her facial features. In today's world, where women are looking fitter and younger than ever, this cutting-the-hair-short rule no longer applies.
The key is to wear your hair how you like—whatever style you feel most comfortable with and makes you look the most beautiful. The only rule I do think women, no matter what age, should follow is to keep your hair in good condition. Condition regularly and get regular trims. Invest in a good cut. Unhealthy hair is just not pretty.
Now regarding gray hair and whether women should color their gray as they age, that's a personal decision. My mother, who's 72, would never stop coloring her hair and would be equally shocked if I stopped coloring my gray. Expect a separate blog post on this topic.
In the meantime, what are your thoughts on this hair-cutting topic? Do you think women should cut their hair shorter past a certain age?
